About us

At KennowTech, we understand that your time is precious and dealing with computer issues can be stressful. That’s why we come to you, on your schedule, to make your life easier.

KennowTech was founded in 2019 by Chad Kennow, who turned his lifelong passion for technology into a professional service for the Greater Fox Valley area. Chad’s journey with computers began at the age of 11 when his father bought the family’s first computer, a Gateway 2000 386SX. Armed with DOS manuals, Chad would stay up past his bedtime, much to his father’s chagrin, tinkering with software and fixing the problems he caused. His dedication earned him the reputation of being the computer expert at his high school, where he created the New London Senior High School’s first website in 1998.

After graduating, Chad was hired by the New London School District as a Computer Assistant, where he helped set up over 300 computers in the newly built New London High School and provided technical support across the district. He then worked as a Technical Support Agent for Athenet Data Exchange in Appleton, WI, while taking classes at Fox Valley Technical College in various IT disciplines. Chad also briefly worked for Milwaukee PC in Green Bay before joining the USAF in 2000, serving as a Crew Chief on KC-135 Stratotankers during 9/11. After the loss of his brother in December 2001, Chad served in Mobility for six months as both a Computer Technician and Mobility Assistant. After this he received an Honorable Medical discharge in July of 2002. Chad eventually received a 100% service-connected disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2009.

In 2002, Chad briefly advertised a computer service called CDE Computers in the New London Buyer’s Guide with the support of his friends. Although this venture didn’t take off, it laid the groundwork for future endeavors.

Despite personal struggles, Chad was able to start a family in 2006 and continued his education at Fox Valley Technical College in 2007-2008, further honing his skills in various IT disciplines. He continued to refine his craft in computers, experimenting with cutting-edge technology and finding practical uses for everything the tech world had to offer.

In 2019, after years of encouragement from family and friends, Chad founded KennowTech in Appleton, WI. With mentorship from his friend and brother in Christ, Tom Mills of Omega Computers, in Moorcroft, WY, Chad gained the confidence to dive deep into his business.

In August 2021, the Kennow family decided to relocate to Greenville, WI, which also allowed him to better serve customers from a more central location. After reopening in September 2021, KennowTech continued its mission to support businesses, families, and individuals with their computer needs across the Fox Valley and beyond.

In July 2023, KennowTech temporarily closed as Chad took time off to focus on health and family matters. This period allowed him to recharge and come back stronger.

Recognizing the economic challenges and inflation facing the nation, Chad, with the help of his good friend and brother in Christ, Nathan Ehrenberg, introduced the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and KennowTech+ Packages in August 2024. These packages were designed to better serve business customers and repeat individual customers without breaking the bank.

Now, we’re back and more committed than ever to providing exceptional service.
